Over the years we have heard the likes of Fred Trueman, Ray Illingworth and Geoffrey Boycott all coming out with their blunt and too the point opinions, offending the great and good, team mates, coaches, anybody – and without even batting an eyelid.
Yorkshire chairman, Colin Graves would appear to have put this list of outspoken legends and all other Yorkshire men to shame with his outburst in the wake of the counties relegation from Division 1 of the county championship this week when he said….
“It’s down to the players who have been on the park – nobody else. The performances have been a disgrace; they have been unacceptable. The players need to take a long, hard look at themselves as far as I’m concerned.
We’ve given them everything they wanted – contracts, salaries, we’ve given them everything. So they can’t turn round and say Yorkshire’s done this or Yorkshire’s done that.
Great, isn’t it.
