Another typically swashbuckling innings from Alex Hales has seen his Sydney Thunder side qualify for the finals of BBL|10.
Sydney Thunder thrashed Adelaide Strikers by 9 wickets to claim the third of five spots in the finals of BBL|10.
The win ensures that the Thunder can finish no lower than fourth, and leaves the Strikers relying on results on the final day.
In total, three teams can overtake the Strikers. So it’s going to be a long final day of group matches for skipper Travis Head and his team.
Needing just 116 from 14 Overs in a rain reduced match to win, Thunder made short work of the chase.
The run chase didn’t get off to the greatest of start though. Hales’ opening partner, Usman Khawaja was out to the first ball of the run chase, bowled by Daniel Worrall for a golden duck.
This didn’t deter the Thunder though. And with experienced skipper Callum Ferguson alongside Hales, the pair made short work of the total.
Getting home without losing anymore wickets, and with a massive 11 balls to spare.
